In 1961, a number of people came together to start an organisation called the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The main goal of this organisation was/is to protect life on earth. Hundreds of WWF staff work in countries all over the world trying to protect our planet and the animals who live here. To learn more about their amazing work, click on one of the two video links below.

Clip #2: Tigers
Once you have watched the video, go to your blog and, using full sentences, tell us:
1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save.
2) What the WWF is doing to help the animal.
3) What, if any, success they have had protecting the animal.
Freshwater Seals
1. The animal that the WWF was trying to save was Saimaa ringed seal.
2. The WWF was building a snow bank to save the baby ringed seals because if they didn't have a snowbank the predators will kill them and they will end up dying.
3. The success that the might have was when they build the snow bank to help the baby ringed seals.
Kia ora Solomone,
ReplyDeleteWell done on completing another activity! You've got until midnight tonight to complete a few more so keep them coming! :)
Wow, it sounds like the WWF are doing some really important work. Were you able to find out why they're having to build the snow banks? Are they not something that naturally form? I'd be interested to know a bit more about this project.
Blog ya later! :)
