Siva Afternoon

“Siva Afternoon”
By Solomone
The Te Wairua Pakiki children were preparing for Siva afternoon on the 29th of May 2020.
Everyone was sitting in their positions. The Takarita children walked in beautifully and sat down
waiting patiently. There were special guests Father Felise, (Father of the Church) The Matai, (Mr Tai)
and Mr Coakley.

They started off with a lotu (Prayer) Father Felise did, followed by a speech from the Matai.
His speech was great. Then the performance started with the girls dance which is called a Mauluulu.
The girls did a great job doing the Mauluulu. The girls dance was awesome.
They even learnt the dance off by heart. Faakaupaki  was up and there were little kids
performing in that group. The little children in that group were awesome, they kept up
with the rhythm and the dance moves.

Then the Sasa group came up with grace. They sat down on the floor and they
were ready with confident looks. They had no music but they still did a great job.
The Sasa group had to do their dance 3 times which was tiring for them.

Last but not least, was the Aiuli. Tupua came up with his group and everybody was
clapping to the beat. Tupua was the Manaia and he did the Taulanga. The Matai stood up and
started dancing as well as other people, such as parents. What a great celebration to end
Samoan language week.

My Lockdown writing

Moving on to level 1
It has been 1-2 months that everyone has been stuck in Covid-19. The Primeminister has finally
decided to leave us in level 1 of Covid-19. This means that the number of people at a place would
expand and people still have to wash their hands.

Moving to level 1 is a good idea because then people can go and visit others and they can shop
normally. People were saved because the prime minister Jacinda Adern decided to go into lockdown
early so that people can be safer. That’s why only some people died because we went into lockdown
early. In other countries a lot of people died because of Covid-19.

Now that everyone is in level 1 people decide to live normally and to keep washing their hands to
keep germs away. There have been people with the Virus but they recovered. The prime minister said
to other people to keep 1 metre away from other people. Now other people are happy that they are now
in level 1.

My prototec results

This week Monday (15/6/2020) I got 95%. I need to work harder to get a higher score.
Last week Monday (9/6/2020) I got 90%. I need to work even harder so I can achieve my goal but the only way to achieve my goal is to work harder to get a higher score.

Letter to the editor

Letter to the editor
Dear Mr Coakely we feel like we need longer breaks so we think we can have school early,
we can finish school late and so we can get 1 hour of break so we can get fit.
We have other issues. Some people have spotted plastic, rubbish on the ground and they
don’t pick them up.

We think we should have a tuck shop so when people forget to get their lunch there
parents can give them some money to buy some lunch from the tuck shop. Some
people complain about not having a big park. We need a big park for the seniors because
some of the seniors are bored during morning tea and lunch.  We also think that we
should get more books in the library so that we can read even more and exciting books.
